I have not gotten any new tasks from World Community Grid in over two months and I don't know what is wrong. I was getting tasks before that time, but I don't know what changed two months ago.
I am also running GPUGRID and I don't have any trouble getting tasks for that project. World Community Grid is set to use 75% of BOINC resources. I have reserved 6 gB of hard drive space for BOINC projects, of which only about 0.2 gB has been used. Network activity is set to always be available. I have made sure that my World Community Grid preferences have all projects and work options checked. My current computer does appear in my Device Manager and is set to the Default profile (power saver). If anyone could help me figure out what is wrong and how to fix it, I would really appreciate it. |

Please end and restart Boinc Manager and post the first 50 or so lines of the Event log.....

Don't know why, maybe something done at the time of HCC on GPGPU, but check the device profile, Custom, that processing is set to: "Allow research to run on my CPU?: Yes"
----------------------------------------(And this is a popular one these weeks. When issues, check the location settings! ;>) [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Feb 21, 2015 6:12:58 PM] |

Although, if that is the issue and not receiving WCG work "in over two months", it must have been set more recent then the ending of HCC, which was in 2013.

Changing the device profile didn't work, but I did find the problem with the local settings. Somehow my machine was set to only receive at most 0.5 days of works, which was not applying to GPUGRID, which always has long tasks. This seems to have been preventing me from down loading the WCG tasks. I increased the Maximum Additional Work Buffer and I was able to get WCG tasks again.
Thanks for the help. |

Glad you solved the 2 problems stopping work coming. GPU work buffering is supposed to work separately from CPU caching... Maybe a bug which if it bothers, you can present to the BOINC developers.

BTW, a change to the website prefa most often requires 2 server-client connections: One, to transfer the pref to the clients, two, the client acting on those new web prefs.
