Re: Beta Test - Outsmart Ebola Together - v7.19 - Feb 6, 2015 [ Issues Thread ]

BETA_OET1_0000317_xMBGP-S_rig_1329_1

So far, it seems good. It took 7:16 for the first checkpoint to happen. Second at 13:56.

The unit seems stable, it is able to pause and resume whenever I want it to. When I quit Boinc, it correctly restarts at the last checkpoint.

The only "issue" so far, is that the percentage moves in chunks of 0,100 or 0,099%. It spends 4~5s stuck, then moves. I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be, but it happens.

Also, I quit Boinc while running. It was able to restore from the last checkpoint.

So far I finished 9 WU's, 319's to 324's and all had checkpoints at 8 to 15 minutes intervals and finished between 1 and 2 3/4 hours on my i3 550 Win7 64 machine. I suspended all units with LAIM off and they all picked up at the last checkpoint. So far I have 2 valid and 7 PVal.

One thing I have noticed is that on a restart of a work unit the messages within the stderr file show the CPU time as at the start of the task:

Been a good half-hour since a new result and far longer than that has been nothing but _1 copies. Guess the glut is over.

Time to mop up the resends.

Last night uplinger said 9900 were still to distribute. With all those empty buffers after the 18+ hour outage that will have been drained very fast.

In total I've got 150 wu for windows and linux. Rather short ones with only a couple of minutes and one long running with >9 hrs.
Checkpointing was ok on my devices. None errored out so far. Nearly all a valid and only a few are still in pending validation. 11 are in progress right now.

Re: Beta Test - Outsmart Ebola Together - v7.19 - Feb 6, 2015 [ Issues Thread ]

I'm a lucky cruncher.

Last night whilst sleeping, after the system upgrade and hours of upload backlog's and
hours of deferring communication (so not able to ask new work), I fetched however 76 Beta's.
This morning almost all off them already returned, because I had set the preferences for the
case I was lucky so, that the Beta's would start immediately high priority after receiving some.

Re: Beta Test - Outsmart Ebola Together - v7.19 - Feb 6, 2015 [ Issues Thread ]

68 pages worth. Four pages still in pval state.

Only two have gone invalid and this is on a Phenom that is overdue for retirement. Actually resurrected that one and a couple others in anticipation of this Beta.

As much as I'd like to see another round of Beta (or three) it will be nice to have OET in full production run.
