Yes, you were warned in the "Lollipop ready?" thread and the sticky, to say BOINC for Android and the app were not ported to use the PIE model yet. No BOINC projects seem to have been ported to date.

Well I was to fast. Nexus offered me the update and I did not know that it was new version of Android neither that Boinc is not working. Now I know! I would also like issue warning to others not to do same mistake!

We're off on PIE now. The Ebola (OET1) do fine, then the FAHV failed serially, telling me the Android 5.02 is no PIE:
Result Log Result Name: FAHV_ x3IAW_ A_ PRAS_ 0958322_ 0469_ 7-- <core_client_version>7.4.41</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process exited with code 1 (0x1, -255) </message> <stderr_txt> error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported. </stderr_txt> ]]> Whatever the message means, Non-PIE apps sent to the client, work units pointing to the old app [Techs fez up plz], or the PIE app not believing my 5.02 is PIE compliant. A new test fetch now has a FAHV running for 35 minutes, so it's may be a case of [quoting one other posting senior member making it a legit acronym not on the Nels list, a case of temporary snafu ;] |

Actually, here's one distribution starting on the 8th, when no trace of the PIE version release can be found.

Sek,
Basically there are still versions of results going out that originally went to 7.32. These are still trying to complete with 7.32 as their application of choice. 7.33 is the version going forward and it will only work on 4.1 and above. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Nobody knows
There's though a new Lollipop underway... 5.1 with some really great goodies... even a device reset will not disable device locking... it's bricked for any unauthorized person: http://officialandroid.blogspot.it/2015/03/an...rapping-new-lollipop.html |

I'm neither using Lollipop nor standard boinc.
----------------------------------------Kitkat with native boinc is what I'm using. There I can see the app version but that doesn't help you, I know. Perhaps you have a command line available and can try boinccmd? Edit: Didn't find a command for boinccmd that delivers app version. But if you have access to the file system you should find the apps. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Eric_Kaiser at Mar 10, 2015 8:10:36 AM] |
