I received 8 work units yesterday. Two of them went to PVer then invalid. My work units had been restarted - none of the other wingmen's work units had been restarted:
BETA_ OET1_ 0000299_ xEBGP-L_ rig_ 0722_ 1-- BETA_ OET1_ 0000299_ xEBGP-L_ rig_ 0793_ 1-- Other of my restarted work units validated OK. |

FYI, we are continuing the beta test, with more flexible work units. The application will appear as 7.16. We are running one batch right now and another 5 if we determine it is running well. It has a minor change, but should give us more insight into how it is running on the grid.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

This w.u. (BETA_ OET1_ 0000309_ xMBGP-OM_ rig_ 0417_ 0-- ) v 7.16 had a time of 1:15 or less it is now over 1 hour run time and a 10.00% - I'll let it continue to run!

I'm running several tasks from batch 309, but after 90mins there's not a checkpoint in sight.

The 309 series work units I got appeared to be heading for an hour or so run time based on % complete but then reset to 10% and checkpointed around the 2 hour mark.
----------------------------------------Assuming % after reset is proportionate, faster PCs are heading for 6 hour run time and slower 20 hour (no checkpoint yet). Paul.

I'm running several tasks from batch 309, but after 90mins there's not a checkpoint in sight. If you can I would let the task run. Is it progressing at a reasonable rate? ![]() |

If you can I would let the task run. Is it progressing at a reasonable rate? Hehe, how do you tell?! "Progress" is at 10% on some, 20% on the rest. Time Remaining dropped to 6 min but is now rising past 19 min. Most have now checkpointed approaching 2 hrs. Yes, I'll let them run. |

Yes, please let these run, we will be taking a look at them. They could have more flexes within the target molecule that is causing it to run longer. The more flexes the harder the work unit will appear.

Thanks for your feedback Tony. I was unaware that these tasks progress in big increments and not in little increments. I look forward to getting any that come my way

There are some weird things happening with these betas.
----------------------------------------#1 Any task that has run less than 2 hours will completely start over if BOINC is shut down and restarted LAIM checked or unchecked. #2. Some tasks have been running for 3+ hours and are only 10% complete. Some 2-3 hours and are only 20% complete. Others have been running 35 minutes and are 40% complete. #3 is the weirdest yet. I have machines that are running beta tasks only. If I have 8 running (Intel quad with HT) and open the task manager it shows 100% CPU usage. If I suspend 1 task the CPU usage drops to 87% which is how it should work. I have other machines running betas and other tasks (UGM) together but no more than 8 total. If I suspend 1 task the task manager still shows 8 tasks running (100% load ) even though BOINC manager shows only 7 tasks running. If I suspend 1 more task manager still shows 100% load but BOINC manager shows only 6 running. The only way I could get the tasks the BM showed as suspended to actually suspend was to shut down and restart the manager. Have never seen this behavior before even with the betas from 1/7 and 1/8.
