Re: Ebola Project Milestones

Just so you know, a lot of people here agree with you inasmuch as very little on the site is intuitive. Also, not everyone here has the same knee-jerk response to criticism of WCG that some members tend to have.

Thank you for that. I remember spending days (3-4) looking for the correct way to get more then one CEP2 WU to run on the putter at the same time. Also sent a e-mail to WCG but found it just hours before they responded about a week later. So I agree it's not very in intuitive at all.

In the hour +/- I get each day I'm much more likely to read a physics paper then anything here. In this information age, if I dare to call it that, yes it may be out there, but I have better things to read. However I'm not able to say your response has wasted any of my time, matter of fact just the opposite.

Besides I have yet to read honest response to the questions of when can we expect more WU's and why were there so few. Software, build, didn't plan ahead what? No all I received for the trouble was flack and a book to read that goes no place. Some community adviser I think we need a new one.

You have a good week.

Re: Ebola Project Milestones

Beta after the My Grid split up went with the My Contributions page, left margin, a special 'yes I want' opt-in with verbiage where you can specify which device profiles beta should apply to.

Re: Ebola Project Milestones

There hasn't been any activity on the OET page since Jan 13, so I'm assuming that all of the WUs from the first phase have been processed and validated (there still might be a few stragglers out there, but not enough too make any difference). So the OET 1st phase totals are:

Run Time 151:270:22:03:33
Points Generated 222,256,132
Results Returned 556,631

Waiting (patiently?) for the next phase to start... biggrin

Re: Ebola Project Milestones

There's no 'phase', the interruption is a technical hold up to make the working application capable to also checkpoint on the 'flex' work units which absent the checkpointing were retained. wink

Re: Ebola Project Milestones

Oooppss... sorry about the "phase" reference... my bad sad. Rectifying, the data displayed in my post are the totals during the current lull in WU availability.

Thanks for the correction.

Re: Ebola Project Milestones

Well, now that the OET flex WUs are flowing, we have a new daily high for OET:

Date:
02/11/2015

Total Run Time:
19:133:23:35:52

Results Returned:
88,537

I'm very sure this will be run over by today's totals...

Which brings the overall totals to:
Run Time 191:041:08:37:17
Results Returned 732,638

Crunch on.

Re: Ebola Project Milestones

cjslman, not wanting to subdue your enthusiasm, but in the crunching chart thread you'll find a picture of your observations including a projection for the current day... ~27 years, 92K results. That is, this being based on current averages. If we launch into truly long ones that can change, but given even after this morning the average runtime being 2.6 hours for a result, just not expecting large numbers of great duration, but then these will then take longer to show through into the statistics ;0]

Re: Ebola Project Milestones

Thanks Rob... no problem. The reason I started this thread was to point out the OET project milestones, not give a day by day status (I mean, how could I compete with your charts wink biggrin). I posted yesterday's stats to show that the project is off to a very good start and bump the thread a tad.
