I am signed up for 3 tasks, and the only one sending tasks is Fight Aids at Home. I received UGM initially and have about 20 days of processing, but they have just stopped - last 7 or more tasks are FAAH or FAHV, about 2-3 days worth.
Thanks |

the feeder priority for each of the currently running projects is:
----------------------------------------FAAH normal CEP2 special MCM1 normal UGM1 low OET1 ? So WUs from FAAH & MCM1 will be received in greater numbers than UGM1 |

Also, as OET1 has just launched, the WCG techs will, no doubt, be taking things slowly at first - just to ensure that there are no "hick-up's" before the project is ramped up (and before the press releases go out about it).

Yes we know, too many new projects to keep pace, but this is really about having a hard time of getting ugm1 work.
![]() rbm73, don't know what the exact feeder weighting is atm, but getting in a profile of mcm1+ugm1 about 10:1 for mcm1. Sometimes there's only mcm in the buffer, drowning out ugm completely. Worse, with a app_config, had threads idle because mcm1 was only allowed to use 50% of the system resources. |

Thanks... that seems to explain the tasks I have received.
I haven't heard of this feeder priority. I assume it is something controlled solely by WCG. I'll have to find out more about - hopefully there is something in one of the forums. |

Right. The techs at WCG can change the settings for projects much like turning a valve or a faucet to change the flow of water. This determines how many WU of each project are ready to be "fed" out to the volunteers. There are weeks worth of work in the queue waiting to get out to the feeder and sent to people.
----------------------------------------For people just trying to contribute to a certain project the easiest way to control what you get and what you don't get is to scroll to the top of the browser, click "settings", then on the left side click "device manager" and from there you can select which project WU you will get. ![]() |

I appreciate your insight into the task distribution process.
In the last 24 hours my balance between UGM and FAH has about leveled out. My settings: 3 projects selected (plus Beta Testing) and have NOT asked for other work (non-selected projects) if no tasks are available. Surprisingly, my selection of OET was because of an "invitation" email from WCG about a week ago. I have subsequently received another such email - and I have already chosen that project and am still awaiting my first task. WCG's approach to "drumming up" support for this project doesn't seem well thought out. At least it doesn't make sense to me. |
