More projects?

I'm curious about why there are only 4 current projects underway on WCG. When I first joined there were many more than that - maybe 8 or 10? I'm wondering why the decline as completed projects aren't replaced with new ones. Is this just a cyclical thing? I'd really like it if a muscular dystrophy project got started again - the last one ended before I got much of a chance to participate, and MD has a close personal connection for me. Another Clean Water and a Malaria would be great also.

Just wondering.

Re: More projects?

And a 5th appear to be in the works.

Personnaly, rather than a new malaria project, I wish the GFAM got funding so they could proceed with their research with a bigger effort.

We'll need more crunchers for that.

Re: More projects?

If I had my druthers there would be a Multiple Sclerosis Project to crunch, along with all current and future projects.

By the rate it's going, MCM should finish within a year....UGM, also!

FA@H is about to finish...though more WUs keeps coming!

yes, more project would be nice...BUT, we all got a pretty much to do...so push up your sleeves, get more PCs in and keep crunching! ;)

Re: More projects?

For the next project, pre-announced as coming in shortly [In 10 year anniversary news], will need some new color. This chart http://bit.ly/WCGWUC shows all previously used. Mind you, they should have some linking to the research computed. Grays for cancers, greens and light blues for ambient, is sort of the line followed. Maybe wait till the beta is here and having a chance to snoop in the code as to what the nature is but it will have to be obviously something not found in American golf-slacks cowboy. Alternate view of past usage is on http://bit.ly/WCGPI1 project banner list. Text must be legible. Black is complete, white is (in)active, consideration when designing the charting set.

Suggestions assigning a new hue variation is appreciated

TIA

P.S. The sooner someone makes out an acronym of the new project and posts it, the better. Adding number 25 into the database and setting up all to fit is still rather time consuming. Like to have it ready on day 1 of go-live. And yes, this could be a thread hijack biggrin
