Hi Peets83, are you running more than 1 BOINC project?, if so, then it could well be that the other project(s) is/are attempting to balance things up.
----------------------------------------If you post the first 2-3 dozen or so lines from your Messages tab, then we'll be able to tell as to how many other projects within BOINC you're running, as well as the weighting they're set to. ![]() |

I used to keep them all at 100 and I never had any problems in the last 2 years until now when the new boinc version appeared.

Found it.
Don't ask for new work on all projects except one and the problem is gone. |

It's not really a problem. As was pointed out, projects balance their work share, where wcg is seen as a single project. Since the nwer agents do this balancing in big blocks, not on an hourly or daily basis, you get this 'Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: not highest priority project' when hitting the update button on the ones that are currently -not- fetching work. If you stop work fetch on all the projects except one, wcg here we presume, then you're postponing the issue and make the problem bigger. Resume fetching on the others, and you're bound to see nothing coming from wcg again for some time.
Here's a proposal: Wcg is 4, soon 5 projects under one hood. The others you have are probably just one. Give wcg a relative bigger share. E.g. if you have selected 3 of the projects at wcg, give it 300 as project weight/resource share. This way the relative contribution evens out over time for all the sciences your hosts are contributing to. |
