I am somewhat confused as I have edited my WCG app_config.xml file to add in controls for this project and have guessed at ugm1 for the <name>, as I could not find it mentioned definitivley anywhere, but when I make BOINC reread the config files it comes up with:
19/10/2014 06:46:44 | World Community Grid | Your app_config.xml file refers to an unknown application 'ugm1'. Known applications: 'fahv', 'cep2', 'faah', 'mcm1' So, what am I doing wrong? Cheers |

the short-name is correct. This message will continue until the agent has received the actual application and first task.

Yepp. ugm1 one is correct. And as said above get your first workunit and this message disappears.
