Just a short time so far but points for project

I know that we only ran this project for a short while and that it takes weeks for things to settle sometimes but I wonder how others think about the level of points granted on this project ?

Seems low and getting lower to me ....sighs

Re: Just a short time so far but points for project

On a i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz I am getting anything between 31 and 42 points per hour. Points seem to fluctuate per batch.

On a i7-3770 @ 3.7Ghz I downloaded a bunch of units in one go. So far the first 19 I returned all got 32 points without exception.

Points allocation is by no means steady, but I guess that is to some extent related to the problems of accurately sizing these WUs. But now that I've processed enough to give a reasonable picture I would say that it is not dissimilar to other projects. I'm certainly happy to plod on with it and do not feel the need to abandon ship in favour of some other project.

Re: Just a short time so far but points for project

Thus far I have gotten approx. 571 points per completed WU.

It all depends on your claim and whether your wingman is claiming higher or lower.

From 1 machine 2 VM's (Windows and Linux) the last 15 results granted on average 17.57cr/hr resp. 17.71cr/hr.

Re: Just a short time so far but points for project

I guess you are talking in BOINC Credits, not WCG Points, aren't you? Because so far (still small sample - only 90 WU's valid) I received 211.8 points per hour, what is more than from MCM1 (big sample, thus more precise 191.1 pts/h) and from FAAH (201.2 pts/h). Only CEP2 (also sufficient sample) is "paying" more: 245 pts/h.

Cheers peace

Re: Just a short time so far but points for project

Looking at a larger data set it seems to be not as bad as I thought. I guess my gut feeling was wrong.

project | sample size years | points per year
UGM1 0.83 1,162
MCM1 34.91 1,199
CEP2 10.29 1,505
FA@H 71.81 1,678

The older results also include smaller faster processors that win out over these later many cored but slower machines

I suppose that it is this estimate of run length that determines the number of points each rig claims.

On one rig I have seen between 25,400 and 1,982,090 wcg points per day running Aids so I concur with your comment that it is not steady
