Currently, there are only three active projects in production on WCG and AIDS is just about finished. Are there other projects in the works or are we at the end of being able to crunch for WCG? It looks like Beta WUs are just starting to filter in again.

As for your statement of AIDS is just about finished, I'd be very interested to see any reference at all that supports this claim. This is currently the longest running science on WCG with new experiments being added all the time. Especially since they are now opening up a new application to get more accurate predictions, your claim is more than suspect. Also, see the thread referenced above. Thanks for the information and thread reference. It looks like things are moving and that's good news. As far as the AIDS project being close to finished, I was just going by the current list of active projects shown on the web site. Yes, the AIDS project has been one of the longest running projects but also shows 91% complete - that's all I was going by...nothing else.
Glad to be crunching for WCG and hopefully long into the future! Dave |

The Project TimeLine is a relatively new feature.
----------------------------------------If a project will end within 6 months an estimated completion date will be shown which is not the case with FAAH. The % Complete refers only to anticipated work notified to WCG by the reseearch scientists. Many factors go into estimating how far a project is from completion - these factors change over time. The number of additional research tasks the researchers anticipate needing to run on World Community Grid is not always known and See the Project Timelines FAQ for a detailed explanation. |

Thanks...that is good to know. I figured it was probably an estimate but wasn't sure how the whole thing worked.
