Hi
I have two Android devices (HTC One M7 and HTC One M8) running HTC Power to Give. The M8 is receiving jobs fine and processing them. The M7 connects, verifies account and then just sits doing nothing - network communication occurs as normal and the log asks for tasks but gets none - no error messages it simply says "0 tasks sent". SETI@Home is working fine on that device. I've tried updating, resetting with no change. Can anyone help me to understand why please? Thanks |

Know nothing about the 'power to give' skinned version of boinc for android. Post event log, which is like mailing it to yourself and then copying it from the mail into a reply. After '0 tasks sent' would expect more like a reason such as 'don't need', because it is now seti's share time.

I should also point out that despite logging on from the device successfully, it doesn't appear in my device stats on the site... all a bit odd.

No idea what boinc version the htc ptg agent is based on, but reading bottom to top, which is how the log shows, there is work being requested from wcg, but none is given. Possibly the agent is associated with a device profile that does not have fightaids@home selected? Check 'settings > device manager > select the profile showing behind the android device and confirm. Only wcg's fa@h has android work.
----------------------------------------Not showing in the device stats is possibly because your device may not have returned any work yet? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 22, 2014 11:48:37 AM] |

I have a second Android device which is picking up work fine; but I've just created a "Work" profile for my Android devices which has settings more closely aligned with Android's capabilities.
I'll see what happens but to be honest I'm not hopeful - I might uninstall P2G on the currently complaining device and leave it at that. (The device is a work phone and is encrypted - that MIGHT affect it but I'm not sure). Thanks for the help |

Not showing in the device stats is possibly because your device may not have returned any work yet? It's not showing in the Device MANAGER, never mind the device stats... |

Not showing in the dm is a sign you possibly connected the android to a different account, it happens time and again members create multiple accounts.
Again, don't know how the hpc ptg agent looks, but in the standard boinc for android hit the large agent icon of the app at left top. The dropdown menu has 'projects' as option. Take that, then wcg shows as one of the attached projects and the account name it is associated with. It would have to be the exact same as the member handle you're posting now. |

So I installed BOINC from the Play Store - and uninstalled P2G. It's exactly the same; when I set logging level to 5, it goes through each of the projects and says there are no tasks available for any of them.
----------------------------------------This issue is on the WCG end... although the device now appears in DM. [Edit 1 times, last edit by stonelaughter at Sep 23, 2014 7:36:29 AM] |

In that case it has to be listed in Device Manager even if it has not received any task yet. Cheers ![]() ETA: I was late ![]() ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by branjo at Sep 23, 2014 7:38:46 AM] |
