Hello!
I've come across this twice now. Screenshot at: http://imgur.com/5VDToQ5 This is a FAAH work unit that seems to be running for quite a long time with a long way to go. The last time, I'm pretty sure it ran out of time and terminated. I'm used to seeing WU's that last maybe three days tops. I'm worried this one won't complete either. The phone is an LG Optimus F3 with a Snapdragon 400 - not cutting edge, but plenty competent! I run BOINC the bulk of the day, only shutting it off when I'm using the handset to browse or to conserve battery for the rare extended trip afield. Are FAAH work-units getting longer, or is there something odd going on here? |

Hi Janus5,
----------------------------------------in the fight aids subforum exists a thread on this topic. I'm writing on my mobile thus it's not easy to link to this thread. I'm sure you will find the thread and some answers there. In short: It is known and caused by wrong sizing of the workunits during generation. You will also recognize that the credit will drop for those workunits. Deadlines is also a problem. ![]() |

Thank you! I'll try to find that thread. I'm assuming I should just delete the in-progress WU, but I'll check there first.
Thanks! |

Our goal is the same Erik
---------------------------------------- Janus5: my advice is to keep them running - it would be a shame to lose all work you have already done and you will be (probably) credited for them. See my post here (the part in the brackets). ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by branjo at Sep 18, 2014 8:24:38 PM] |

Thank you both! I really appreciate it. :) I love contributing time to useful projects. Even though I have a mid-tier phone at best, every bit counts, right? :)

I'll leave the unit running and try to give BOINC as much time as possible to crunch on it.

Are FAAH work-units getting longer, or is there something odd going on here? The chance these x3vq tasks manage to run successfully on android to the end and get credit is throwing dice. Yours with 39.5 hours elapsed at 16.6 percent means it's got a staggering 239 hours runtime projection, 1 hour short of the 10 day deadline. Already seen some hitting the 10th 11th and 12th copy, the last ditch distribution. 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_FBPb_rig_0220468_0028_10 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 12:51:50 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_FBPb_rig_0220428_0008_6 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 12:51:50 PM 9/18/2014 12:53:51 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_FBPb_rig_0220435_0049_7 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 12:51:50 PM 9/18/2014 12:53:51 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQA_IN_FBPa_rig_0222219_0032_8 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 12:48:49 PM 9/18/2014 12:51:50 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ7_IN_FBPb_rig_0220538_0019_6 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 12:48:49 PM 9/18/2014 12:51:50 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ5_A_IN_LEDGFb_rig_0220022_0059_8 00:15:44 (00:14:08) 9/18/2014 11:58:29 AM 9/18/2014 12:01:31 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ5_A_IN_LEDGFb_rig_0220040_0026_10 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 11:58:29 AM 9/18/2014 12:01:31 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ5_A_IN_LEDGFb_rig_0220065_0061_9 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 11:58:29 AM 9/18/2014 12:01:31 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQ5_A_IN_LEDGFb_rig_0220089_0058_11 00:00:00 (00:00:00) 9/18/2014 11:58:29 AM 9/18/2014 12:01:31 PM 7.16 fahv FAHV_x3VQA_IN_LEDGFa_rig_0222584_0008_10 07:45:31 (07:13:54) 9/18/2014 11:42:15 AM 9/18/2014 11:44:26 AM End result, they will be converted to 'too late' and thrown back to another platform to be recomputed one more time, see post armstrdj. Short for, you compute the task, and then it will be reprocessed anyhow on regular computer. Not very useful. Btw, the beta fahv version 7.32 for android has just been moved to production. All repairs are being issued with this release. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 18, 2014 9:18:01 PM] |

I'm running BOINC for Android - are you referring to another bit of software I should be running, or to a new batch of WU's that will be pushed to BOINC without my needing to interfere? Thanks! |
