Project files won't download under Win7
Hi all,

I freshly installed the newest BOINC client on a Win7 machine. Adding the project and getting tasks went fine, but now the client is stuck on downloading the project files.

I get messages like "Project Delay" or "Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down." for days now.

Please help, good people! :)

Have you tried a reboot of your router and PC?

Do you have a software firewall? They can do strange things; so can anti-viruses.

Do you have a software firewall? They can do strange things; so can anti-viruses.
So I did the following things now:

1) Disabled the real time features of Microsoft Security Essentials and our local McAfee derivate

2) Allowed the BOINC client and manager within the Windows firewall

3) Changed the rights for the BOINC install path to full access

4) Aborted the old tasks

No luck. sad

Oh, at least there's a new error:

"Temporarily failed download of *.*: transient HTTP error"

Just post the complete event log since last boot or agent restart.

Proxy? 'our local mcafee derivate' sounds scary.

Another steps should be:

1. Reset the project (advanced view / project tab)

2. if no luck, detach and re-attach the project.

3. if no luck, reboot the PC and post the first 60 rows from Event log.

I wonder if your proxy needs configuring to allow data connections for WCG. I don't know whether you have other machines working successfully through it. Have you checked the firewall configuration details for the content delivery network ?
