I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII, running latest original boinc app from playstore with default settings, when I try to connect to WCG, I get the following log messages:

Fri Sep 05 21:45:35 CEST 2014|World Community Grid|Your current settings do not allow tasks from this project. To fix this, you can change Project Preferences on the project's web site.
Fri Sep 05 21:45:35 CEST 2014|World Community Grid|Scheduler request completed
Fri Sep 05 21:45:33 CEST 2014|World Community Grid|Not requesting tasks: don't need (blocked by project preferences)
Fri Sep 05 21:45:33 CEST 2014|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
Fri Sep 05 21:45:31 CEST 2014|World Community Grid|update requested by user

Any ideas?

Re: Cannot attach to WCG

Hi cristi,

Click here, find your device name (probably "android"), click the "Selected profile" and make sure "Fight AIDS@Home" is selected in "Available Projects". Then scroll down and click "Save".

Cheers and good luck

Re: Cannot attach to WCG

You may want to check your Device Profile. Android devices can only run FAAH.

Re: Cannot attach to WCG

@Deltavee ... https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProjects.do FAAH is already selected.

@branjo the Selected Profile is default...

I am using BAM on my mobile device.
Could it be that I might have an issue with the RAM on my S3 and the FAAH requirements are too high?

Re: Cannot attach to WCG

I don't think it's the S3 because I run Faah on a S2.

Re: Cannot attach to WCG

Please change the title of this thread......you ARE attached to WCG, you just cannot run a project! The title is very misleading wink

Re: Cannot fetch work from WCG

'Not requesting tasks: don't need (blocked by project preferences)'

Could it be you've set the agent to not fetch work from wcg? Go to projects view, select wcg, hit the 3 dot menu button right top. If it says 'Allow new tasks', that'd be one possible answer.

'Default' is not necessarily the 'default' profile. Home/work/school can be set as default as well. It is whatever profile you ticked the 'set as default', where for me the home profile set as the default.

To make it even more confusing, 'default' is by default used by the boinc for android agent to check for web settings, no matter which profile is selected, but not for the project selections.

If all else fails, go to my contribution > my projects and select 'all projects'. Save and it will set all your profiles in one go to the same. Obviously if you have more devices on wcg, they will be affected too.

Ps, changed the title of this post as a suggestion for the opening post.
