1.
----------------------------------------'Not requesting tasks: don't need (blocked by project preferences)' Could it be you've set the agent to not fetch work from wcg? Go to projects view, select wcg, hit the 3 dot menu button right top. If it says 'Allow new tasks', that'd be one possible answer. Maybe it is too early for me, but I cannot find the link for ...Go to projects view, select wcg, hit the 3 dot menu button right top. If it says 'Allow new tasks', that'd be one possible answer... Can you please reply it here? 2. go to my contribution > my projects and select 'all projects' ... not working 3. And to top it all, now I cannot fetch work on my laptop from BM log I get: 9/6/2014 8:09:58 AM | World Community Grid | update requested by user 9/6/2014 8:10:02 AM | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 9/6/2014 8:10:02 AM | World Community Grid | Not requesting tasks: don't need 9/6/2014 8:10:05 AM | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed And from http://boincstats.com/en/bam/projectHosts/15/ ... BAM! :: Hosts per project ... ![]() The 3rd one is my current laptop, while the last two are the androids. [EDIT] I have disabled "No new work" & "Do not use CPU" on the first two laptops, still the same issue I stopped crunching for WCG last year when the GPU project stopped sending units, and I remember specifically telling BAM not to use the cpu, so ... it might have messed up the current settings Help?!? ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by cristipurdel at Sep 6, 2014 6:40:08 AM] |

On the android, open the agent and hit the boinc icon left top. This opens a menu. It should list wcg, scroll down if necessary. Select wcg and you're in the project view. Then you will get the 3 dot menu right top.
Sounds like your web profile was set somehow or you created or modded app_config app_info or cc_config. Global project selections does not change the technical parts of the device profiles, thus not now getting work on your laptops is stunning, but when it says 'Not requesting tasks: don't need', it could mean the buffer is full. The newest 7.4 agents actually expand on the cryptic 'no need' as you saw already from your android log's '(blocked by project preferences)' And you using bam, well that adds another vector. You'd have to visit there and see what you set from there. As the saying goes, you dug a hole, and we can't see from here what's in it. ![]() |

I still cannot find the 3 dot menu right top. Can you post a printscreen?

Problem solved.
----------------------------------------Long story: I guess there was some conflict between the preferences from boinc laptop with the android preferences, and it messed up some settings via BAM, I tried a lot of possible scenarios... Short story: Uninstalled all laptop and android BM, and reinstalled BM with BAM. The last small issue is that Vina needs 250 MB but my SG1 has available only 184 MB (from BOINC) While from settings it shows that only 90 MB are free out of a max. of 369 MB Hope we will get lower project requirements in the future :) |

All the screenshot you'd ever want of boinc for android. https://www.google.com/search?q=boinc+for+and...&biw=1594&bih=777
The picture that shows the 3 dots is right of the line chart, with coolpreview extension to firefox hovering is enough to get the full view. Tab the dots and the menu opens. If you click on the images into the google playstore, the fourth and fifth image in this series show the 3 dots too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.berkeley.boinc |

This is just like a Kafka novel.
----------------------------------------I do not have the 3 dots menu in the last version from BOINC 7.4.14 ... ![]() And now, all my androids (I added 2 more android phones) and the laptop give me the same thing about ... Tasks for CPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them... BM and BAM works perfectly when I am attaching wu-prop, asteroids, qcn but it does not work for wcg. So it might be a bam or wcg issue, but after 8 hours of testing I had enough... I'll switch to another project and hope it will get sort out somehow (I still believe it's a wcg issue)... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by cristipurdel at Sep 6, 2014 5:28:37 PM] |

It may be a resolution and or underlying android os version thing, mine 4.4.4. Think the 2 dashes right top is what on mine and others' is 3 dots, installed, but not using 7.4.14, as having switched to nativeboinc with a huge differential in satisfaction for me, to include remote monitoring with boinctasks.
Google has various ways to present menus the 3 dashes and 3 dots i knew, but the 2 dashes not 'registered' before. As for bam, well wcg has not enabled this account manager in full, just a few small bits, in read only i think. It's on that incredible long list of things to get put on the to do table. |

Don't quite fully understand this? Do you have any links? I do not understand why is it working in the "morning", but it stops working in the "evening"? |

Nope, it's information picked up reading the forums over time. Personally, never had much use for bam. Modify a device profile / location on any project and the settings apply to all projects, except of course the project specific settings. At wcg everything is crammed into one profile screen, at other projects they've got like 3 screens to make the crunching changes.
