I know bitcoins are all the rage these days, but I was wondering if WCG can benefit from some of the bitcoin board hardware designs.
Would it be better to use a pricey socket board, or to build an ever expanding a pi rack? I love the idea of contributing more than one human lifetime worth of real time research, but i'm also on a non existent budget. Most of my computers have been hand me downs. I feel that if you embrace other branding and include it in your research, that you can draw enthusiasts in. So if we had a "this was my bitcoin board" or "this is my pi" blue print, we could get people to "give it a shot". My 2ยข |

Bitcoin miners use ASICs or application-specific integrated circuits. So they are only designed to do one thing. That's why they can do it so much faster. But as a consequence, they aren't good for very much else.
