One User, Multiple Devices, One Team

Hi to all,

If I have multiple computers and IOS devices, how do I ensure that they are all accumulating credit for my team? Do I use the same sign on for WCG on all of them?

How do I validate that each device is, in fact contributing to the team?

I really would like to sort this out before sending out the invite to others who I know have multiple devices.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: One User, Multiple Devices, One Team

Once you're a member of a team all additional nodes you add to the 'same' member account accumulate contribution to the same team. One member can only be on one team, so if you play for the new york yankees, you can't be playing for the red skins.

Results for all of your nodes can be checked in 'my contributions > device statistics'. These update 2 times a day with new 'validated' results verified in the last day half.

Or you can check the progress on all computers in "My Contribution: Results Status" here http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewBoincResults.do selecting any of them from the drop-down menu "Device Name:"

Just one remark: there are not BOINC nor WCG managers for iOS, so you can not crunch on iOS devices, only on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Android.

Cheers and good luck

Re: One User, Multiple Devices, One Team

Go to Settings: Device Manager: Device Profiles http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewProfiles.do .

You should have already "Default" profile there. If you do not have any, create one, click on it, select "MCM" (dont forget to uncheck "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project."), save it.

Then create another one (let say "School" - but you can choose "Work" or "Home"), open it, select CEP2, save it.

Then go to Go to Settings: Device Manager: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewDevices.do

Click on your local desktop in "Device name" column and assign "Default" profile to it.

Click on your cloud server(s) in "Device name" column and assign "School" profile to it (them).

Cheers good luck
