Re: No work for MCM

Yes, most are resends which do not require the feeder. As there were errors or no replies, they could be sent back out again.

oh i know... My additional work buffers = 0.20 days so always get re-sends; I was just noting how it seemed there seemed to be more than a few that aborted the long running w/u's to get the short ones. I saw a *big* jump of those things on more than one of my systems but it seems right back to normal
It was kind of fun to watch- after running several of the quick ones, then a load of long running re-sends, boincmgr did some crazy flip-flopping with some going hipri and causing w/u's with like 10 seconds to run. watched for a bit and just let it sort itself out wink

Re: No work for MCM

The testimonials throwing more questions than answers, but anyway, saw there was again a series of shorties, time to pile up, but wcg is not having it:

20502 World Community Grid 7/17/2014 2:52:11 PM [sched_op] CPU work request: 470100.52 seconds; 0.00 devices
20503 World Community Grid 7/17/2014 2:52:16 PM Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
20504 World Community Grid 7/17/2014 2:52:16 PM [sched_op] Server version 701
20505 World Community Grid 7/17/2014 2:52:16 PM No tasks sent
20506 World Community Grid 7/17/2014 2:52:16 PM No tasks are available for Mapping Cancer Markers
20507 World Community Grid 7/17/2014 2:52:16 PM No tasks are available for The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2
20508 World Community Grid 7/17/2014 2:52:16 PM This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress

Does not print, but the number is 200, so boinctasks counts them. Can't even buffer 1 days worth of actual work, best day 354 in 24 hours completed on 1 node. Not really helpful to those who like to compute offline, and maybe a co explanation why mcm is never seeming to get anywhere close to the amount of runtime that fa@h is getting each day. Leaving the buffer setting, in effect this agent, 7.3.18, is going to request 1 task for every task completed, that's potentially 350 connects to the server per 24 hours. Efficient you may want to ask?

Saw the same thing here. Drives boincmgr nuts, but it eventually recovers on its own when left alone.
Cheers

Re: No work for MCM

I'm getting around 5-10% resends and those are mostly due to users detaching which implies loss of rented PC.
Looks like some people are still buying PC time somewhere...
