A few questions.
What version of BOINC are you running on your Android device? Are you getting any error messages when you try to connect to WCG? Please post the the first ~50 lines from the BOINC event log on the Android. That should give us some clues as to what is going on. |

The route you followed is fine, hitting the 'get it on google play', which fetches you the latest stable version for your android, mine shows 7.3.17.
Normally if an application is installed it also creates an icon on the device desktop, certainly boinc is expected to be listed in the default launcher. When in google play and you search for boinc, you get the product information page with an uninstall and open button. Nothing happens per your opening post. What's your system android version and arm cpu level. Those have minima as described in help somewhere, like android 2.37 and cpu level like ABI v5. Mine is 4.4.2 and ARM ABI v7. Of course, if you can't start boinc it will be very hard to open the event log and mail this to yourself, or copy the requested 50 lines to know where things hang. Normally if boinc is loaded, an icon appears left top in the drop-down launcher. Seemingly not in your case. |

jb1441,
When you installed BOINC from Google Play, did you install the version from the Space Sciences Laboratory? That is the version recommended by WCG. If I remember correctly, BOINC does not automatically start up on Android. You may have to go to the Google Play store, find BOINC and click "Open" to start it manually. Once you get it open you can change preferences to start it automatically. |

At Google Play it shows Boinc, Space Science Laboratory,
"INSTALLED", then under it : This application is compatible with all your devices. There is No, "Open" displayed anywhere! I do not believe it ever got downloaded, even though it shows as Installed. Under the Downloads it shows "No Downloads" |

jb1441,
See if you can open up Google Play, find BOINC, then tap or click on the module name. It should open up a window you can see a description of the software, reviews and the option to "Open". |

I am now on with my Android. Boinc suddenly popped up, and said it was loading my Android connection. Hurray!! Thanks, for all the help and encouragement to pursue!!!! |
