By the way, I noticed that CEP2's progress bar goes to September 2014 while the others don't. Does that mean anything? Is it a projection of current work will end? Yes. We calculate the end date for each active project but will only display it if (based on current data) that date is within the next 6 months or so. I will say though that several factors and variables go into calculating the end date, some of these change from time to time. So don't be surprised to see those dates get updated as those factors change. For more details, refer to the project timeline FAQs . |

Great stuff the level extensions, in concept, the execution in graphics, slapping on the numbers maybe just slapping when looking at this persons badges https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=420333 . The alignment of 5 and 10 seems to be off both horizontal and vertical. Also noticed that badges sometimes like dsfl and gfam trading places, betting 1 dollar, making it more evident that gfam is off. Anyway an attention point for your next update, zooming not recommended as then its evident there's no effort invested to make them look good enlarged or shrunk. Pity after redoing the various such as the hcmd2, dddt2, the sapphire color seems off on that one too, on tablet, a missed opportunity to put them into vector graphics scalability.

"Platnum", nice. I never heard of the band before. Always learning, every day.
Nice to see the new badges, by the way. Maybe it can become "Platinum" later, some day. Or "Nirvana" might also do it. Nitpicking, I know. |

2 ADMINS, a suggestion:
----------------------------------------so what do you think about a WCG badge...with WCG logo inside...that would commemorate ALL THE WORK we have done in the projects? in my case it's the 35y, so I would get 20M DIAMOND with WCG logo... also, put it in the left side, under my name and forum position...before the country that I come from...we have talked about it here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=468589 p.s. only thing is that the limit of 100y CPU time has been overreached by so many admins & moderators in some companies... ;) |

I have often wondered though...why badges are runtime-based - coming to the conclusion that no matter what hardware you have you should be able to get recognized for your efforts. But that is not entirely sound either. As today you can have few or many cores even in a single PC. This has most probably been discussed before, but isn't it "better" with badges based on points? (Or even an efficiency badge for points/runtime :) ) Perhaps one does not need to replace runtime badges, but somehow add points-earned badges. I'm just thinking, since these may vary a lot. Perhaps then those with really fast PCs who already have milions of points on a project only have very little runtime on it. Then it would be an incentive to crunch on for more runtime. And equally, those who have slower PCs have lots of runtime (already reaching platinum badges) but having (relatively speaking) few points. Then it would be an incentive for them to keep crunching for the points. Badges are not the main goal, but that may differ for some and they need that incentive perhaps? And the important thing is to keep those WUs getting crunched and returned back to the servers, right? Just a thought...
