my new antivirus keeps flagging WCG...

Hi, so a bit of background: I bank with Ally , and they have purchased antivirus software that their customers can use, Webroot SecureAnywhere . The last few days, it's been saying I have a threat on my system. It says the threat is wcgrid_mcm1_7.32_windows_x86_64...\www.worldcommunitygrid.org and that the infection is Win32.RuleBlock.1. Now, the other day, it popped this message up and I gave 'em the OK to clear the infection. It popped back up again later, and I cleared the infection again. Now it's the same thing, so this obviously isn't getting resolved. Any suggestions as to a next step?

Thanks,
JeffKnox

Re: my new antivirus keeps flagging WCG...

did you do the option to allow once, or allow allways?
I think its a matter or training your software to know that this isn't a bad exe Once you allowed it did you end up with a completed workunit?

Or, if the software allows do as deltavee said, try to set an exception for the boinc directory

Yes check out the white list sections or allowed programs or directories. We demoed that program at work before we went with another and it was rubbish. Slowed our PCs to a crawl and blocked all sorts of legitimate programs. I would check with your ISP, most provide a free antivirus, if not use Microsoft Security Essentials. Webroot is terrible.
