Anyone thought of buying a bunch of Raspberry Pi's and installing Linux on them and then running the WCG project one them?

The Linux WCG programs are written to run on Intel hardware and not ARM chips.

I recommend the odroids u3 from hardkernel. The community edition costs 59$ plus shipment. You get a quadcore arm with 1,7 GHz. Install android and nativeboinc. I'm running two of them for WCG FightAids and another quadcore android device too.

I'm just in the process of getting a new phone for mom...she uses Sony X8 with Android, so that one will be upgraded to a CyanogenMod Android hooked with a stereo for playing music (no, don0t want to play with it while somebody else uses it!)...
----------------------------------------probably the newer one will be Samsung Android (she likes those) that supports WCG & BOINC on factory setting... of course, I'm using an iPhone & BB...don't plan to switch to Android - even 'cause of the WCG! but lately did write the letter of suggestion to Apple to join with their official version of BOINC...something like HTC & Samsung did! So if u would like, let's make Apple customer service overrun with mail of sugestion of BOINC on iOS...if they have it on MacOS, why not on iOS? |

I doubt Apple would provide the rights needed within iOS to let BOINC run properly.
