Why Isn't this Member's Crunching Happeing?
About a week ago I helped this friend sign up. He has neither downloaded or uploaded any work packets. I thought maybe he had too tight a power profile so I checked today and his computer never shuts drives down or goes to sleep. The software (BOINC Manager) icon is in his Systray and the program comes up when you click on the icon but shows no crunching has been done in a week.

I checked his profile and he is signed up for about 4 projects.

What's wrong

It's really hard to say without more information. Ask your friend to go the Boinc Manager "Advanced" tab and select "Event Log." Then scroll up and copy the first fifty lines into a reply to this thread.

Okay. This may sound weird but you need to exit and shut down the Boinc Manager making sure that the "Stop running tasks..." box is checked. Start it up again and wait for a minute and then copy the first 50 lines again.

I know how to exit, but don't know where Stop running tasks... box is.

Perhaps I am over complicating this. It is in the dialog box when you exit Boinc manager.

My Boinc doesn't dialog when I close it.
Maybe Suspend each task in the Advanced View or Suspend Project?

I noticed the Log he provided so far mentioned no projects attached to this computer, could it mean something?

To get the dialog box when exiting BOINC:

BOINC Mgr>>Advanced View>>Tools>>Options>>General

Check "Enable Manager Exit dialog"

Okay. If you don't see the dialog box then just show the first 50 lines of your Event Log.
