World Community Grid has not been affected by the heartbleed vulnerability. We have checked our systems and software.
It is still wise to avoid using the same password for multiple purposes. If some hackers discover your password at one vulnerable site, they may try to use the same password at other sites that you visit and possibly gain access. It is also wise to not use easy to guess words, numbers, or character patterns for you passwords. |

Does WCG have the ability to notify members of invalid password attempts either on the forum or the website?
----------------------------------------I use a password manager that generates random passwords for sites but most people don't do that and no matter how many warnings are issued from however many sources, people are going reuse passwords. So if WCG really takes the security of the accounts here seriously then an email warning should be issued after a certain number invalid attempts. ![]() ![]() |
