I was under the impression that I would earn bitcoin by signing up. How does that work. I can't seem to find any mention of it in the FAQ or anywhere else.

I was under the impression that I would earn bitcoin by signing up. Nope, no bitcoins. This is a volunteer site. How does that work. It doesn't. There is a giveway of XRPs from the Ripple Labs (WCG doesn't have anything to do with it). It's currently winding down. I can't seem to find any mention of it in the FAQ or anywhere else. Because there isn't any such thing. This is a volunteer site. You're welcome to stay and crunch work units that help find cures for illnesses that affect our world. That was an outside promotion ran by Ripple Labs, and was not sponsored or underwritten by WCG or BOINC in any way. To earn their XRP (which are supposed to be exchangeable for BTC or other currencies) you had to compute as a member of their team; I see that you are not a member of their team, so I think you're out of luck. You can't earn any more XRP, as they have ended the promotion. Check out their site for more details: https://www.computingforgood.org/
