----------------------------------------With the recent updates and changes to the way World Community Grid communicates to our volunteers, this Known Issues thread is being retired. I question the effect of these changes and how they are used in practice. Under the old system a Non-Digest watch on the Known Issues thread triggered an email every 10 minutes if there were posts in the thread. With the new system Communication Preferences only allow a Weekly or Monthly as an option except for Special Announcements In the last three weeks there have been two News items tagged "Technical Issue". The most recent "System maintenance Mar 2" was of little importance not so the earlier " Unplanned three hour website outage Feb 11". Previously both would have appeared in the Known Issues thread but now since neither rated "Special Announcement" status they are consigned to the weekly/monthly news email where they have little relevance due to time expired. I would suggest either reconsidering what qualifies as a "Special Announcement" or else reinstituting the Known Issues thread. |
