As noted above CEP has an 18 hour CPU run-time limit. After that it will report the work completed to the researchers and download a new WU. This is likely what happened instead of it being the same WU. I'm surprised the program allowed it to run that long. What hardware are you running (CPU & memory)? I read about the 18 hour limit and was immediately confused because I had a 38 and 42hr time to completion CEP2 tasks on my computer. I7-860 with 8GB ram...no laughing! |

Your good, I personally wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like the projected time is out of sync, which can happen, however it should self correct after more work is completed.

Time To Completion adjusts itself. It is often off by a factor of 2 or 3. Just look at CPU time and Percentage Completed. Look at My Contribution - Results Status and filter for CEP to see what has been happening with CEP work units.

You might want to consider upgrading your BOINC Version. Visit Download BOINC client software
----------------------------------------7.2.42 is the BOINC Recommended version but is a recent release and might throw up some unexpected errors 7.0.64 Older version is generally acknowledged, in this forum, to be stable when running WCG uplinger posted last week that recent CEP2 WUs "are using a larger molecule than normal" These have resulted in an increase in the time between checkpoints and, possibly, a drop in Device efficiency. So while CPU time is capped at 18hrs Elapsed Time can be significantly higher. |
