I found the posts about the settings to leave applications in memory and I did that yesterday. I went to bed last night with a 42hr CEP2 task at 24hrs accomplished and I got up this morning and that CEP2 task is back to less than 1hr accomplished.
What else am I missing? Thanks! John |

Did you power your PC down? Hello Scribe, No, I did not shut off my PC. It's been running since Friday evening. |

.... a 42hr CEP2 task at 24hrs accomplished.... That seems kinda long. CEP2 has a cutoff point at 18 hours cpu time. Since your computer apparently needs a lot more time than that, maybe it is very busy doing something else other then crunching that also uses a lot of cpu power. Your boincstats over the last view days are very low so something appears to be wrong. Maybe it's just a dodgy workunit. I personally would abort the task to see how it does on the next and do a reboot, see how it goes. |

Did the PC reboot itself? For example because of Microsoft update.

Did the PC reboot itself? For example because of Microsoft update. It's is unlikely as I don't let Microsoft, Windows or any other program I have do anything to my computer automatically. ![]() |

I think my stats are down because I haven't been running as many tasks trying to get CEP2 to complete. Except when I'm surfing, reading email, etc. the only other thing running on my PC is WCG. I'll check Task Manager to make sure I don't have something sneaky running in the background. |

How many CEP WU's are you running at the same time? What OS & what BOINC Ver are you using? One CEP2 task at a time with seven other assorted tasks. I've reduced tasks to four and then CEP2 only with no change Windows 7 SP1, BOINC 6.10.58 |

As noted above CEP has an 18 hour CPU run-time limit. After that it will report the work completed to the researchers and download a new WU. This is likely what happened instead of it being the same WU. I'm surprised the program allowed it to run that long. What hardware are you running (CPU & memory)?
