I have been trying the various suggestions on my Windows XP Home system. So far, the only one that seems fairly reliable is Paul Schlaffer's post:


This is interesting as I have never had a problem with using

systeminfo | find "Up Time"

on any XP system. Don't have a W2K system to test on so can't comment. Please note that you have to open a command prompt and type the command as exactly shown - the case is important. Also note the spaces around the pipe character (|) - I did not show this before and apologise.

There is an alternative if required, although it depends on what you mean by 3rd party as it is from Microsoft. There is a utility (command line) which you can get from MS here.

Is there a way to see windows up time without some third party software???
If you DON'T see a blue screen, it's up. < sick >
