This Windows 8 OS on this computer is working fine. However, on my older computer with OS XP, this message is appearing on the desktop: "BOINC IS NOT RUNNING".
----------------------------------------Does this mean my projects are not running, as well? Or something else? Thank you, Maddy56 This Windows 8 OS on this computer is working fine. Hello Maddy56,
Your message in BOINC Manager is telling you the truth. If a reboot does not fix it, you might want to try reinstalling BOINC 6.10.58 on Windows XP. Lawrence |

This morning, it seems to be running fine. ??? Weird, huh? Anyway, I do have a question about it....the exact same points are on both computers. Does that sound right?
Thanks for your response and I look forward to the next one. |

If you are looking at the Projects Tab on both machines and at Work Done, then yes they will be the same as it is not the work done on each machine, but is the Work done by Maddy

I only have 2 projects on my XP and 6 on my Windows 8, but if I am reading you correctly, that would not matter, because all of the work is done by me. Correct?
It just doesn't seem right to me, unless the XP, which has quite a bit less than the Windows 8, and the Windows 8 are just added together. Is that correct? Does it duplicate (add to each) the points? Or are the points just combined, meaning each computer has the one total? Thanks so much for responding. Maddy56 |

In the Project view, if you select ECG then select Properties on the left, a window will pop up with a scroll bar on the right. Scroll down to Credit and it will show all the credits earned by the user and all those earned by that computer. They will be the same if only one computer is used. Otherwise they will be different.

Please advise where I find 'Project View'. I am not very familiar with the site. I only know where to find 'my projects' under 'my contributions'.
Thanks |

BOINC Manager has different views - Project, Tasks, Messages (Event Log in Windows 8), etc.
