Not sure how I should do this ... I will be away from home, on leave, for 4 weeks starting 20 Feb 2014. My PC will be shut down for this period so you will not get any work from me until I return to Brisbane.

Hi Derek,
----------------------------------------Obviously, I don't know as to how many WU's you've got buffered, but one clean way to stop more from coming in, is, on your BOINC 'Projects' screen (if you're not already in the 'Advanced View', you'll have to change into that mode), select WCG and press the "No new tasks" button. Then, just before you close your machine down, press the 'Update' button on that same screen - this will then return any completed work back. If you still have WU's in progress/still to start, simply Abort these from the 'Tasks' list (WCG will then reissue those WU's out to someone else's machine - thereby eliminating the time they'd waste waiting until they timed out). When you return and boot up your machine, go back to the Projects tab, and press the 'Allow new tasks' (i.e. the same button - it toggles between the to options), and new work should start flowing in. In the meantime, enjoy your holiday ![]() ![]() |

One other thing to note is that once you select "No New Tasks" there is no need to use the update button, immediately task are completed they are automatically reported

Maybe abort any unprocessed tasks in the cache before you switch off, so they will be reallocated to other crunchers?

Hi l_mckeon, I've already suggested this in my response...
