There seems to be little or no work available. There does not seem to be any new projects starting or available. Should I just forget about WCG.ORG? I purchased a new desktop pc specifically for WCG, and now I notice little activity. Can any person give me a heads up on future projects, or should I jut take my toys and go home?

It looks like as of right now there is still over 4 years of work available.
What do you mean little or no work available? |

My machine used to complete so many work units each and every day [7x24]....Now only 20+ - low 30+ units.
I consider this fact an indication of little work available....where am I wrong in this assumption? Pls respond...tnx... |

Hopefully others will respond soon. In the meantime I wonder how much work do you download into your cache and how often does it connect?
I do notice that workunits right now are not the little 2 hour ones, they seem to take my computer 6 hours at least, to complete. But there is enough work available as of today, at today's rate, to last past the year 2018. |

There is no lack of work available. There are 3 important big science projects active at the moment and if I remember correctly the targeted norm is 4. The number of workunits processed a day is irrelevant since the time to complete a WU is variable depending on both the project and batch.

Cep2 units may go up to 18 hours in length. The units for FAAH also vary between the VINA and Autodock units. The reason you are completing fewer units is they are taking longer. Cheers

There seems to be little or no work available. There are 3 projects currently running with plenty of WUs to be crunched. Question: are you not receiving WUs? Are you running out of WUs? Should I just forget about WCG.ORG? What kind of question is that? Why do you crunch?... Just for the sake of crunching or do do care about finding solutions to problems and illnesses that affect our world? I purchased a new desktop pc specifically for WCG, and now I notice little activity. Specify your problem: Are you not receiving work units to crunch? There are three projects currently running without problems ...should I jut take my toys and go home huh... I have no words for that last comment. Please and try to say that to a person suffering from cancer or AIDs, since it would appear you are stating that there are not enough projects for your liking, therefore you will decide to not participate in finding a cure for their illness. CJSL Crunching for a better world. |
