I have pointed this out several times in other threads but have never gotten a response.
----------------------------------------As can be seen from the charts here , we add at least 100 new members per day but the number of active members has been on a more or less steady decline since the beginning of the year. There can be little doubt about the reason for the surge in new members - the Ripple Labs giveaway. One needs only to look at the number of members joining per day prior to the announcement of the giveaway to confirm this (although that data has now scrolled off of the charts referenced above). The only conclusion I can draw from that is that for some reason, many people are joining WCG to participate in the giveaway and then leaving soon thereafter. Does WCG intend to do ANYTHING to try to discover what is causing people to leave in droves? I would also point out that even the growth of the RL team has begun to stagnate as one can see from the 'credit per day' chart here . Is anyone here curious to discover why it is that we can't seem to keep people even when we're giving money away? ![]() ![]() |

Not sure if I should ask this here or not but I am one of the people that joined up under the ripple labs giveaway. On my work I see a lot of Pending credits. Some have been pending for over a week. How long does it take to verify the work in order to get credit? Was hoping to offset the electrical cost and other small related expenses.

Thanks for the bump Datean, even though that probably wasn't your intention.
----------------------------------------It can take up to a week or more to validate pending work units but as a general rule, it's substantially less than that. Right now I have a couple FAHV that were submitted on the 30th and 31st and I have some MCM1s that were submitted on the 1st and 2nd. But about half of all pendings were submitted either yesterday or today. Both of those projects seem to have a quorum of 2 so a lot depends on who got the other work unit and when their machine gets around to sending it back, but a week or so doesn't seem to all that strange. ![]() ![]() |

Datean,
----------------------------------------after a week or so, your points should level out, and your pending validations remain about the same. Then you can get an idea of how many points per day, and extrapolate how many points per month and with a rough estimate of 400 WCG points to a ripple how much you will make in a month. My 3 computers are roughly 100K a day therefore roughly 7500 XRP a month therefore $135 a month. Think I'm going to start saving them though, I dont think they can be taxed if they are in ripple form, once you convert them it can't be long before the government goes after them! ![]() |

By the way....
----------------------------------------People are LAZY (myself included I'm just to stubborn to quit when I don't know what I'm doing) If the iphone twitter FB generation is joining for the chance for easy money, then as soon as a few (or ONE) hurdle get in their way, they will bail. EDIT: WCG has broken records this year, so if the job they are doing is so bad, WHY ARE WE BREAKING RECORDS? Is everything perfect, NO, that's the way of the world ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Jack007 at Feb 8, 2014 4:35:35 AM] |

I guess what it really comes down to Jack is how much do you want to see WCG grow?
----------------------------------------If you don't care that we make things a lot more difficult than they should be or that we don't provide the information newbies need so they CAN go on to contribute, that's fine. That's your opinion. But some of us want to streamline things so that it's not such a huge learning curve and we can keep more of those people who are just in it for the money. Purity of motive has never been a requirement and I see no reason why we should try making it one now. I guess I just care more about the future of WCG than you do - or IBM and their staff for that matter. ![]() ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by twilyth at Feb 8, 2014 4:46:06 AM] |
