I think I have the most recent Ubuntu, and I update it regularly,
but apparently there is a newer version of BOINC available now. How do I install the new BOINC? Don't I first have to completely remove the existing BOINC? If so, how do I do this? thanks |

I believe it is recommend installing Boinc from the software repository/software centre within Ubuntu. I run this version on several machines with great stability.

Yes, that's how I installed my version, but now I need to know how to completely remove the old version so I can install the new one. |

If you really want to install the latest version, go to the BOINC HP and the follow the instruction.
You can reach from here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Installing_BOINC#Linux |

Ok, using the automated software center, I was able to find and remove BOINC.
Then I found BOINC and installed it easily. But it says version 7.0.27 Is this the latest version for my computrer? My computer is old, and I think only 32 bit. |

If your computer is only 32 bit, the 64 bit version will not install. Also having the newest version is not necessarily the best thing. As long as you have a version that works well you should be all right.
