New Communication Preferences feature
A cautious welcome to this new feature announced today in a BOINC notice and in News on the Home page Home|Reserch|News|Statistics|My Contribution ribbon.

Note: "News" does not (at the moment) appear on the ribbon when viewing the forum,

Communication Preferences can be accessed via Settings

I particularly look forward to New behind-the-scenes stories from the World Community Grid team If this is used effectively it has the potential to be a powerful tool in creating a proactive relationship between the WCG team and the Community at large, rather than the reactive relationship we have at present.

I'm very pleased to see that My News is customizable and has an RSS feed associated with it. Notification as it happens -- no need for a weekly (or monthly) e-mail!

It also sounds like a fully "WCG approved" V7 BOINC client will be available before too long.

For those who noticed that News isn't available as a top-navigation menu option when you're in the forums, well spotted and thanks for bringing it to our attention. We'll get that fixed.
