Android x86 - refuses to download data sets

I'm running BOINC on two devices - a VSun i5 MTK6577 phone with 1gb of ram and a Sony netbook - both running builds of 4.0.4 ICS.
The problem I am having is although the BOINC client will support the X86 based machines and will run without issue on the netbook - I am getting a download error saying the device string isnt recognised - at which point it refuses to download any data and sets next communication to 24hrs.
The message is - "This project doesnt support computers of type X86-Android-Linux-Gnu.. am I right in assuming that if the netbook can run the client to the point of it downloading it just requires an update on the site recogs.to make it run?
