I just started watching this from the beginning. I don't know why but ever since the Canadian serial Forever Knight I've been a big fan of the vampire genre.
----------------------------------------I recently rewatched FK after several years and actually enjoyed as much as the first time if not more. It has such an 80's vibe to it though. It's also a little difficult to watch things from before the HD era especially on a big screen. On the plus side, you do pick up a lot more detail, even with the lower resolution. I'm wondering if there are any other vamp genre fans here - but no spoilers for TB please. Slightly off topic but why don't groups of vampires have their own name. You know like a murder of crows or a spring of teal. Vamps seem to be grouped in nests but I think 'a suck of vampires' makes a lot more sense. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Up to season 4. I need to get a life.
----------------------------------------So far we have, in addition to vampires, shape shifters, werewolves, faeries, a maenade , maybe ghosts, and now, it looks like witches. Oh, and demons. I like some of the French names they use (it takes place in Louisiana). For example the town is Bon Temps (good times) and one of the male characters has the last name of Bellefleur (beautiful flower). ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by twilyth at Jan 30, 2014 1:43:29 AM] |

Since I got the first 4 seasons as gift, I have no excuse.

I don't know why but ever since the Canadian serial Forever Knight I've been a big fan of the vampire genre. One of my favorite shows of all time. When Moonlight staring Alex O'Loughlin (Now in Hawaii Five-0) came out I was hoping it would catch on but it only lasted 1 season. ![]()
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

I think I remember Moonlight. Blood Ties was also good but departs a bit from the standard mythos of the genre. That managed to go for 2 seasons.
----------------------------------------Vampire Diaries isn't bad. It's gotten more interesting over the last year. And the spin-off 'The Originals' is decent too. ![]() ![]() |

Try the books by Patricia Briggs (they can be addicting.)

I'm working on catching up on renting all the True Blood episodes, and really enjoyed Forever Knight.
