I've used SETI@Home for years and decided to change to a group that does biomedical research. I understand BOINC and all that.
Problem 1: The website isn't showing results that I upload. The client (using the one downloaded from here) is showing that they reach 100%, they upload, but they're not showing up on my results page. It seems like maybe 50% of what the client shows is represented on the website. I'm running the client on my laptop, my gaming PC, and my Android tablet. What gives? Problem 2: It's been several days since I upload my first results and only one has validated. I'm not in it for the credit, my concern is that there may be a problem. Several show "pending validation", is that normal after 5 days? Is this an indicator there is something wrong with my installations? Thanks for any tips! |

Results have to be reported before they are checked for validation and as you are new there will be two copies sent out, one to a wingman and they have to be validated before yours are.....in all it can take up to 10 days or more before a reported result is validated

Click on My Contribution - Results Status and then on the Result Name to see how your wingman is doing.

For MCM (other projects are set at the more "standard" WCG return deadline of 10 days), the return deadline is currently set at 7 days - thus, if your wingman hasn't returned their result within the 7 day deadline, then another copy will be sent out.
----------------------------------------Also, MCM is one of those projects where the scientists behind it have decided that they need 2 copies for each WU, irrespective of how long you've been crunching here (again, this is project specific, as other projects running on WCG, are classed as Zero Redundancy - meaning that usually, only 1 copy of a WU will be sent out, with the odd occasional one sending out a 'verification copy', just to double check that everything is still working as expected with that particular machine). Edit: Sorry - I'm forgetting my manners... Welcome rob1979 to WCG, may your stay here be long, happy and enjoyable ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Jan 20, 2014 6:19:50 AM] |
