The ripplers have about 66B worth of XRPs to give away, or at least that's what they started with. Don't know how much is left but if WCG is their main outlet for them, at the current rate it's going to take many years for them to give them all away.

Even if they increase the current rate of 1.25M tenfold, that's barely 5B XRPs per year.

So if I had to guess, I would say that they envision many, many more people coming here to crunch - just one more reason we should have a nice forum to present to newcomers.

The alternative explanation is that they plan the giveaway to last a few decades, and I rather doubt that's the plan.
