This has now started on another of my machines, a 7.0.64, that has NEVER given any trouble........something seems to have happened in the past few days that has started to give problems all around!

Maybe if past reports can be correlated to overall momentary activity it can be linked to 'very busy, too early connections time outs". (The stats have gone really through the roof this noon).
Think this requires tech attention [knreed, uplinger?] (Imagine, one project actually had [has?] shut downs each weeks for like 48 hours so they can catch up with previous 5 days of results, which is when the members hang out in an alternate ''Down' cafe over at the Berkeley forums. Of course WCG would never allow that to develop... 24/365 is the only way of uptime, minus < 0.5% :) |

OK, I've been getting this for the first time this morning, on a machine running BOINC v7.0.64. Adding the max_tasks_reported to cc_config.xml didn't make any difference, but setting 'no new tasks' at least allowed me to report any outstanding. However, turning new tasks back on, I still get the error whenever new tasks are requested. I checked, and I have 50 tasks according to the BOINC client, but my stats page says I have 52 in progress. The sched_reply file always finishes halfway through one of the 2 tasks that I haven't got. I've tried resetting the project, but am still getting the same problem. Any ideas? Hi ! Same problem pending since yesterday Lubuntu 13.10 up-to-date and Boinc 7.2.14 Resetting project, no new tasks, stopping manager, restarting client, restarting manager and resetting ptoject again :
NO solution works... except for emptying the list... Cannot receive new tasks... |

I'm having the same problem. At least I can report competed tasks by setting "no new work", but I can't download any new work after enabling downloads. Just that XML close tag error.

Further update on this. The reporting problem with tasks for WCG is still happening, however, on the same machine which is running Collatz this does NOT occur. I can hit update and report a Collatz task normally, but try the same with WCG task and I get the same failure.......

Scribe are you still getting this issue? I'm curious if this was due to the scheduler having to do more work with attempting to find results for reliable only.
Thanks, -Uplinger |
