I'm really curious what happened here, on one hand how come nobody picked up on this issue for so many hours, on the other hand what caused this issue in the first place. The WCG servers are in Montreal [I believe] and no one works the graveyard shift. . . . the daylight crew is just showing up. My point exactly. I know they are probably not getting paid enough even for what they are doing now, but somebody should be there at all times or have some (better) scripts to send out notifications whenever things go sour. Yep, this project should be watched 24/7 to avoid such issues. So maybe having a tech in a different time zone (Europe?) would be a solution, but IBM knows how much they want to invest into this...

Having techs staff the site two shifts a day is a high end by BOINC standards.

OK, not going to go into a debate on this and hijack the thread. Granted there are many reasons for not having 24/7 surveillance on the server side, but that's not the point. What the techs should focus on is to find a solution (maybe such as automated notifications - if they don't already have that) to avoid this type of situation from occurring again.
----------------------------------------I'm also going to go out on a limb here and say that none of the other projects are as complex and diverse as the WCG umbrella, so it's hard to compare. Hello aptx.4869,
. . . . I don't understand why it shows "Project has..." instead of "Projects have" since the projects I opted in are CEP, and FAAH. In addition, I have opted to receive tasks from other projects when there are no WUs from those two. And that's why, I think, I receive WUs from MCM (beta). BOINC considers World Community Grid to be one project. We were the first BOINC project to host multiple (sub) projects, though now there are others.Lawrence |

As my buffers are tuned, so happens the last cached task on the Linux quad is about to start in ~30 minutes... client still has not decided that the backup project has to be visited to keep all cores busy [In amongst the mentioned SIMAP].
(I know why the Linux eats twice as fast through the FAHV cache than projected, but setting it even higher locks the client out from receiving BETA repairs... 4 days @ 35% is 1.4 days]. (Noticed the repair on the mentioned PVer is in a "waiting to send" state. The schedulers are working, the validators are working, it's just the feeder [or distributor] appears to be on a general strike. |

And to defy all the cache alarm, noon stats set a new record:

Receiving new tasks just now... both FAAH and MCM1
