It's a first report so hard to tell.
----------------------------------------What is 10.5.8 in terms of a name? What BOINC version? SIGTRAP is discussed here http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=7004&filter=false#40730 edit: To add a question. Was this the very first MCM on the host? Rob,
This was the first MSM on this Host. Rather old 6.2.18 and for Mac Os the same an old not anymore supported version. However the Ubuntu tasks run on an even older version (9) and are running much faster as well. But i could try an upgrade on boinc as supposed, however the SIGTRAP link gives not much hope. All other tasks are running well. Ronald |

This is the page with the MAC version ranges indicated and their latest 'recommended' for PowerPC and Intel: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php
----------------------------------------Tend to agree that BOINC version is not likely going to make a difference, but OS-X being OS-X and the ever returning incompatibility problem with each new OS-X, it's worth a try. edit: The reason I asked about 'first time' is, because we initially had version v7.24 for MCM when launching. Rob,
I replaced BOINC for version 7.2.33 as recommended but still same calculation error, task crashed after 1 second. Other tasks are picked up without errors. Ronald |

OK, this then is promoted to being a 'Requiring Tech reply'. Can't do anything more, lest someone comes to the board with a 10.5.8 OS-X and reports their MCM run fine. That'd be a base to investigate differences.

This could be a build issue, 10.5 should be the oldest version it runs on. We are looking into some other issues for MCM and when we rebuild the next version I will look at the OS X build and correct any issues. Until that happens it will continue to fail so I would exclude that machine from MCM1 for now.
Thanks, armstrdj |

Just for the record: I have the same problem with MCM on OS 10.5.8, Intel, Boinc 7.2.28.
This is also the case for the Aids project, Autodock jobs (Vina jobs run just fine). |

MCM runs fine on my 8-core Mac Pro using OSX 10.8.? and now 10.9 I'm using the latest BOINC from the BOINC web site. Using 7 of the 8 cores for MCM. My Mac hardware is old (5-6 years), but I'm using the latest OSX software.
