Hello all,
----------------------------------------I recently downloaded an updated BOINC client and updated from 7.0.64. However when I did that I noticed that my WCG projects would be held up in the upload state and would never transition into "Ready to upload". Did anyone else experience this problem? The only way I solved this was by going back to the older version. Also is there a good reason to update to the newer version of BOINC client as it relates to WCG or are the updates mainly done to make communication and processing of other BOINC projects easier and don't have an impact at the crunching done for WCG tasks? Just wanted to know your thoughts. The version that I downloaded what the x64 bit. Thank you [Edit 1 times, last edit by vitali.dedkov at Nov 25, 2013 2:33:10 PM] |

Read the 7.2.28 public release thread. .31 is a waste / waist of time! Simple, in fact 7.2.32 has quirks I would not put on anyone who expects to use this client in production. Not fit. Stick with 7.0.64.

For what it's worth, I just downgraded from 7.2.28 to 7.0.65 on my ubuntu 12.04 (x64) desktop box because the new client wasn't allowing the box to free enough resources for me to remotely administer it via teamviewer.
----------------------------------------Edit: I also suspect that the 7.2.28 client was unstable on that ubuntu box, as I started seeing weird computation errors and constantly-restarting work units on it. 7.0.65 has so far continued to work like the charm it has been. 7.2.28 on my two windows 7 boxes seems to work fine, and I have no complaints there or plans to downgrade. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Mgruben at Dec 1, 2013 10:06:52 PM] |
