Half a Century.................almost!

With this lunchtime update I should achieve 50 years of crunching with WCG, missed it by 20 hours last night! I know others are way ahead of me but I have had to do all of this without the assistance of 'works' machines! I retired in 2001 and have done this on a shoestring - with a couple of remote machines belonging to my son in Dorset, these are not 24/7.

Now for the NEXT 50 years.......if I manage to live that long! wink

I really wish I'd known about WCG much earlier, as I only got the grid-computing "bug" again early last year. I did SETI@Home and one of the original UD incarnations in Uni, in the late 90's and for a bit after I graduated, but then just drifted away from it until more recently.

I'm one of the ones that have access to "test machines", though, so that's helped catch up on run-time considerably. Would be interesting to see how much I'd have been able to contribute, if I'd known about WCG from the start...
