Not getting tasks?

I've been a long time BOINC cruncher but I'm trying to move one of my boxes over to WCG and having some issues. I have all other projects suspended and WCG accepting new work but I continually get this message in the event log:

Anyone familiar with this? I have my settings open to all projects on WCG so I doubt no work is available. The box has CPU and 2x GPU but neither seem to be taking in new work.

Thanks.

Re: Not getting tasks?

Depends on what the issues are...
I had something similar and posted in this thread https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,35600 .
I had been crunching only at WCG for a long time, and after attaching other projects i wasn't getting work for some of those. I 'think' i got the problem fixed by temporarily raising the cache to a level until Boinc requests GPU tasks. However, i had this issue only with non-WCG projects, and WCG doesn't have any GPU projects right now.

Re: Not getting tasks?

Hi Jack Lightholder,
Better post the startup messages so that we know about your system.

Re: Not getting tasks?

Hi Lawrence,
I updated my original post with my start up log. I imagine it must be in my preferences but I can't seem to find the WCG equivalent of a preferences page.

Re: Not getting tasks?

Hi Jack Lightholder,
Thanks. Everything looks great except - it never requests anything for WCG. It just says that there are no GPU projects on WCG. At least, that is my interpretation. I would suspiciously examine everything about GPUs. WCG will only send CPU work units but I do not see where they are requested.

Re: Not getting tasks?

I just noticed under properties in the client that the WCG was -1 somehow. Finally found that hitting custom in the profile setup brings up more detailed options. Did some tweaking there (increased requested WU cache and raised resource share) and it looks like I'm all set now.

Thanks guys, happy crunching.
