I noticed that there is a 1000 WU limit for the boinc client which is independent of cpu threads. Doneske, have you overcome this limitation with app_config xml? This is a BOINC limitation. The only way to overcome is to run 2 or more BOINC-clients on 1 host. This can be a tricky process, causing a full loaded client to abandon all done tasks, when re-connect the server again. Be aware! It is tricky and one has to double check that everything is specified right but as long as there is <allow_multiple_clients>1</allow_multiple_clients> in the cc_config.xml it shouldn't detach any work units. You have to keep track of port numbers, start/stop scripts, Boincmgr won't work on the additional clients because it only uses the default port as far as I know. Also, your devices on the website all have the same name as the hostname is the same for all the clients run on the same machine. It can be done but takes a little work. |

You need to tell boincmanager when you select host so: select computer or host whatever it is called, may be: localhost:portnumber or 127.0.0.1: port number. Obviously if the computer is elsewhere on your LAN then use that ip. You might then have to add the controlling computer IP to the other computer's remote hosts config file. Is there any way to advance the deadline for the WUs? I could only bunker about 2-3 days unless I aborted the WUs before the start of THOR this week. Like right now (9/26) my WUs deadlines are from 10/1 to 10/6. I usually get about 28000 points per day but was only able to bunker 73000 because of the deadline situation.

Is it possible to join forces with Global Protection prior to the next round? Would it be hard to do? In that a new team would have to be set up and everybody join it? Or could it be set up by the captains of each team?

Even with combining with GPT, I don't see us winning the first contest. However we DO have a shot at winning the Pure Challenge. This is why it's there, as it is a more level playing field, and I think this should be the focus.
