Cette fois nos équipes seront 'opposées', mais il y aura l'occasion de faire d'autre treks.

This time our teams will be 'opposed', but there will be the opportunity to do other treks.

Re: SNURK and friends - Hop on to say hi

I have been with SNURK & Friends for 5 months.

I have moved up to #26 of the non-retired members.. Replacing two of my damaged but previously working laptops has helped my numbers.

Probably an obvious and dumb question, but how do you see what rank you are in the team?

Simple select MY team on My contribution page. Then page down to
Team Member Details and Statistics and select sort by Total run time.

You are #13 of all crunchers and #10 on the non-retired SNURKERS.

Snurks signature also shows the rankings for time/points/results

Re: SNURK and friends - Hop on to say hi

Very interesting article SNURK. Here's something I never heard of before, "..the Dutch Republic, the world's leading economic and financial power in the 17th century. Also, from about 1600 to 1720 the Dutch had the highest per capita income in the world". Funny how that never made any history books I used in my student days. I thought the Dutch were only famous for tulips, wooden shoes and great artists.
I can't decide if tulips are more like Beanie Babies or Bitcoin.

Well, I guess that has a lot to do with the dutch colonies in various strategic parts of the world back then. Invading parts of the world and calling it your own was a very common practice among sea faring European countries back then. Not a period in our history that we can look back on with pride I'm afraid..
You might be familiar with a place called New Amsterdam? wink

I can recommend Krakatoa by Simon Winchester he has extensive sections discussing the history of Dutch rule of Indonesia. Not that great but far from the horror of other colonies e.g. Belgian Congo.
