Hey Team, I didn't watch the SuperBowl and after hearing the results...I didn't miss much!
---------------------------------------- But Amazon is releasing the first episode of their new series, Hanna (based on the movie), after the game! But no hurry since the rest won't be available until March! ![]() |

As I reached my goal for SCC and will reach it soon for Zika, I'm starting to curtail some of the rented servers I got as the estimated completion date for SCC got real short real quick. I replaced my horribly unstable home PC as it didn't matter how many parts I replaced, that system always had problems. That replacement and a PC I bought for my wife are running quite well and am happy about HST returning.

Sounds good, but what is cheap(ie. how much?) Sorry, just caught this message. Would be nice if WCG would add a tagging feature or notification of a quote I paid $100US for 10 octacore tablets. I purchased a couple new screens, one I decided to use as a personal tablet so I can play clash of clans with my kid. 8 of them are now full time crunchers, and one wouldn't work. I tried swapping batteries and charging ports from another to find the culprit, but nothing worked. So i just took it as a loss and scrapped it. For the full time crunchers, I removed the back covers and added copper heatsinks to the processors. All my androids are actively cooled in a cabinet that I rigged up with some 120mm fans in push/pull config. Works really well. Just wish there was more variety for them to crunch. |

I'll have to keep a lookout for something like that! |

This is the same seller I bought from. They had several sets of these to sell at the time, so I sent them a message and asked what kind of deal I could get if I bought two sets. They sent me an offer for $100US plus shipping and I accepted. I think shipping was about ten bucks for a priority flat rate box, but don't quote me on that my memory isnt very good, and was never great. According to the link, they are on their last set now. The tablets are octa core qualcomm processor. I don't see specs of the processor on LGs website, can get you the exact model number when I get home if you are interested from CPU-Z. The processors themselves face the screen, so I couldn't attach the heatsink to the top of the processor like I normally would. Instead I attached the heatsinks to the board directly on the other side of the chips. The heatsinks get hot enough with no active cooling that my finger starts to hurt a bit after a few seconds of holding it there, so they are definitely helping. Add in the active cooling and I can put my finger on them without feeling uncomfortable. I disabled all the built in apps (there are a lot-IMDB, Verizon stuff, maps, etc...) which will just use up storage with updates. Ships with Android 5.0, mine have been upgraded to 6.0 with OTA updates. I thought about rooting the tablets, but it just wasn't worth my time. Maybe eventually I'll root the one I restored for my personal use, but for now it works just fine. Pretty quick for a $10 tablet. |
