I had the same problem with my android tablet, which is a 'Cube U30GT' which has 32GB internal flash memory, 1GB of RAM and 32GB external memory (micro-SD) running 4.1.1. - I Installed it, logged into my account & it just sat there looking for work for several days.
I got bored with it & uninstalled it. I also didn't like the fact that it assumed the right to prevent the tablet from sleeping. I will return to it when you guys have had time to debug it. regards G |

Would BOINC then be smart enough to make the equation of 24 hours times 0 minutes in a day processing is no reason to fetch work? Of course that silly buggers... the point is that if the device is on mains, it charges and if the battery is above ~90% [default IIRC], to compute and keep trying to fetch work. So, do you have any event log information to share what BOINC is trying to do to get something? [The event log is supposed to print a reason of failure] Whilst, the focus team is solely developing the Android client ATM and as new releases are pushed out, total daily contributions to WCG by Android rose from the 16th to the 25th by 218%. Something must be working better than before. |

There could be a few reasons why your device is not downloading any work. Can you please check the event logs and show us what you are seeing there? There could be a few reasons but without event log I'd be just guessing.
1. Could be that the feeder was out of work. I don't believe this is the case because other Android devices are able to get work. 2. Your internal memory on the device is not enough to run VINA application. 3. A download or transfer error of the initial binaries. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Rob,
FYI - my tablet spends most of the day on mains & was set not to sleep when charging - so there should have been demand for WU's I did not want the tablet prevented from sleeping when on batteries - period - regardless of charge status. Now that you've P'd me off with your unwarranted sarcasm - I really cant be bothered with this problem. Goodbye |

Thanks for reporting the issue anyway, which is understood to be that BOINC continues to work in terms of polling when
----------------------------------------1) Is default set to only network when WIFI connected 2) Is to stop operation when by default a) Battery is less than 90% b) Not on mains. Will see if the developers can do something with the available information. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 14, 2013 1:09:06 PM] |
